What is the structure of the D.Ed programme?
The D.Ed programme has a duration of minimum 3 years (6 semesters) and a maximum of 8 years (16 semesters), comprising a total of 80 credit hours. The structure includes compulsory and specialization courses, as well as a dissertation component. The coursework is divided across three years, with specific courses offered each semester. Each course in the programme is worth 5 credits, and the dissertation component carries 40 credits. The total of 80 credits is distributed across the coursework and dissertation stages, with varying credit allocations for each semester and year. Candidates must fulfill credit requirements for each course and successfully defend their dissertation to complete the programme.
Entry Requirements - MQA Accreditation
- A Masters degree
- Training and or professional experience (approximately 3-4 years) in the field of education.
- Other qualifications as approved by the Senate.
- Applicant who is holding a Master’s degree in a non-related field must possess the relevant working experience; OR subject to passing Pre-requisite courses in Level 7 related to Education Field.
